Intoxicated Man, 28, Charged with Vandalizing Syktyvkar Bar
A 28-year-old man from Yaroslavl, with a previous conviction, has been charged with vandalism in Syktyvkar. The incident occurred on October 30, 2025, causing significant damage to a local bar.
The suspect, who was in Syktyvkar on business, was heavily intoxicated when he committed the offence. In a fit of anger following a heated phone argument, he used a brick to repeatedly strike the bar's glass door, causing damages estimated at over 45,000 rubles.
Authorities have opened a criminal case against him under Part 1 of Article 214 of the Russian Criminal Code. Despite the severity of the damage, the man has fully compensated the bar for the repairs.
The suspect, who has not been named, has been placed under travel restrictions and ordered to maintain good behaviour while the case is ongoing. His actions have left the bar with a significant repair bill, but he has taken responsibility by covering the costs.
