IRCON secures Rs. 23,865 crore order book amid India’s infrastructure boom
India’s infrastructure sector is set for major expansion, with the government allocating Rs. 11.21 lakh crore for capital expenditure in the Union Budget 2025. A key player in this push, IRCON International Ltd, has secured a robust order book worth Rs. 23,865 crore, driven largely by railway and highway projects.
The company’s growth aligns with broader national plans, including Indian Railways’ target of 30 GW renewable energy capacity by 2029-30 and a Rs. 2.87 lakh crore highways outlay.
IRCON International Ltd has built a strong reputation in infrastructure, completing 405 domestic and 130 international projects. Its order book remains heavily focused on railways (75%), followed by highways (19%) and other sectors (6%). The company has worked with Indian Railways, the Ministry of Railways, and foreign governments, though specific recent clients remain undisclosed.
In Q2FY26, IRCON reported operating revenue of Rs. 1,976.8 crore, marking a 10.7% rise from the previous quarter but a 19.2% drop compared to the same period last year. Despite margin pressures, the firm benefits from India’s infrastructure boom, including eight planned National High-Speed Corridor projects and a massive Rs. 35.3 trillion investment target for railways by 2032.
The company’s achievements have earned it recognition, ranking 232nd among USA Construction Companies and 192nd in Fortune India 500. Its expertise spans domestic railway projects and a growing global footprint, positioning it as a key player in India’s long-term infrastructure development.
IRCON’s Rs. 23,865 crore order book reflects its central role in India’s infrastructure growth. With Indian Railways and highways sectors driving demand, the company is well-placed to capitalise on government investments. The focus on renewable energy and high-speed corridors further strengthens its future prospects.
