Isabela City Boosts Child Welfare with New Foster Care Partnership
The City Government of Isabela in Basilan province has teamed up with the National Authority for Child Care (NACC) to improve support for vulnerable children. A formal agreement was signed on November 18, 2025, focusing on adoption, foster care, and alternative childcare services in the region. Officials described the move as a key step toward securing stable, loving homes for children in need.
Under the partnership, NACC—through its Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) for the Zamboanga Peninsula—will offer technical guidance and oversight. This includes ensuring timely processing of adoption petitions and providing capacity-building for local staff. The city, in turn, will establish a pool of licensed foster parents and conduct parenting assessments to match children with suitable caregivers.
The agreement strengthens Isabela City’s ability to deliver alternative childcare solutions. Foster parents will receive targeted training, while adoption procedures will follow clearer timelines. The partnership is set to expand support systems for vulnerable children across the Zamboanga Peninsula.
