Islanders Urged to Weigh In on Crucial Development Plan Review
The Island Development Plan (IDP) is under review, with public feedback invited until Monday. Deputy Marc Lainé has stressed its significance, and an independent planning expert will host public hearings following the feedback period.
Islanders can comment on the proposals online or using a paper form until 17:00 on 13 October. The review aims to improve housing delivery by identifying new sites to boost supply. Feedback must be based on revised plans and previous comments, not new observations. Help is available from the Planning Inquiry team by phone or email. Keith Holland, the independent planning inspector, will scrutinize the changes and conduct public hearings. The DPA will decide on Mr. Holland's recommendations, and final reforms will be put before the States Assembly.
Public engagement is crucial in shaping the future of the island's planning laws. With the feedback period ending on 13 October, islanders are encouraged to share their views. The independent planning expert's findings will guide the DPA's decisions, leading to potential reforms presented to the States Assembly.
