Bremen's Mayor Receives Israel's Chief Rabbi Ber - Israel’s Chief Rabbi Strengthens Ties with Germany on Historic Visit
Israel’s Chiefs Rabbi Kalman Meir Ber has made his first official visit to Germany. During his trip to Bremen, he met with local Jewish leaders and senior city officials to discuss key issues affecting the community. Rabbi Ber, elected Ashkenazi Chiefs Rabbi of Israel in October 2024, arrived in Bremen as part of a historic visit. Together with Sephardi Chiefs Rabbi David Josef, he leads the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, which oversees religious affairs and appointments in the country. The meeting highlighted Bremen’s commitment to supporting its Jewish population and addressing antisemitism. Rabbi Ber’s visit also reinforced ties between Israeli religious leadership and German authorities. Further cooperation on cultural and social initiatives is expected to follow.
