Italian students explore Bavaria through Landshut's cultural exchange program
A group of 31 Italian students recently spent a week in Landshut as part of an exchange programme. The teenagers, all from Liceo Scientifico Tron, a scientific high school in Italy, took part in cultural visits and local activities during their stay. The students were officially welcomed by Alexander Putz, Landshut's Lord Mayor, in the grand council hall of City Hall. He spoke about the city's history, highlighting the famous Landshut Wedding festival.
During their visit, the group explored key landmarks, including Trausnitz Castle. They also took day trips to Munich and Regensburg, broadening their experience of Bavaria. Beyond sightseeing, the teenagers stayed with German host families. This gave them a firsthand look at daily life in the region. Their programme included guided tours of Landshut itself, allowing them to discover the city's heritage and modern life. The exchange builds on an ongoing partnership between Landshut and Liceo Scientifico Tron. While the exact number of students in previous exchanges remains unclear, this year's group consisted entirely of 31 Italian participants.
The week-long visit offered the students a mix of cultural learning and personal connections. By staying with local families and visiting historic sites, they gained a deeper understanding of Bavarian traditions. The programme strengthens ties between the Italian school and the city of Landshut.
