Italy and India Strengthen Economic Ties With Landmark Business Agreement
A new agreement aims to bolster business ties between Italy and India. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Mumbai on December 11, 2025, during the Italy-India Business Forum. High-ranking officials from both countries attended the ceremony, marking a step toward closer economic collaboration.
The deal was finalised between SIMEST, a CDP Group company, and the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). SIMEST CEO Regina Corradini D'Arienzo and ICC Director General Rajeev Singh signed the document. Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani and India’s Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal were present at the event.
This agreement sets the stage for increased economic engagement between Italy and India. Businesses from both countries will now have better access to investment opportunities and market insights. The MoU is expected to create a more structured framework for future collaborations.
