Jan Boehmann's 'Irrationality' Exhibition Opens in Berlin
Jan Boehmann, host of the satirical TV show 'ZDF Magazin Royale', has opened an exhibition titled 'The Possibility of Irrationality' at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin Mitte. The exhibition, which runs until October 19th, explores the theme of irrationality through a collection of unique items and interactive experiences. The exhibition, curated by Boehmann and his 'Royal Group', features a range of 'trophies, souvenirs, and accessories' belonging to controversial figures, including a Donald Trump-branded hair conditioner and René Benko's rabbit-embroidered hand towels. Boehmann, known for his criticism of Trump on his TV show, sees the exhibition as an expansion of his satirical show into real space. One of the exhibition's highlights is a telescope and mirror constellation that allows visitors to watch Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz at work. Boehmann believes that irrationality can be constructive, suggesting that it might help us 'get out of this'. The exhibition also includes a giant butter bust of former Chancellor Helmut Kohl and an inflatable Statue of Liberty submerged in the pond outside, symbolizing the state of US democracy. Originally, rapper Chefket was scheduled to perform at the HKW on October 7th, but the performance was cancelled due to potential anti-Semitic content. The 'The Possibility of Irrationality' exhibition offers a thought-provoking exploration of irrationality through its unique collection of items and interactive experiences, serving as a clear extension of Jan Boehmann's satirical TV show into the realm of physical art. Visitors can engage with the exhibition's ideas and form their own opinions until it closes on October 19th.
