Janina Ben Fadel reshapes Rüsselsheim’s cultural landscape with decades of advocacy

Janina Ben Fadel has taken on a new leadership role in Rüsselsheim’s cultural scene. Since 2023, she has chaired the Association of Intercultural Clubs, continuing her long-standing work in local integration. Her career spans decades of political and social engagement, marked by awards and community initiatives.

Janina Ben Fadel’s involvement in local politics began in 2006 when she joined the SPD. Two years later, she received the Germany Says Thank You award from then-Chancellor Angela Merkel. Her work in intercultural relations dates back even further, to 1993, when she founded the Tunisian Family Association and became its chair—a role she still holds today.

Ben Fadel’s leadership in intercultural projects remains central to Rüsselsheim’s community work. Her current role builds on years of advocacy, from founding a family association to receiving national recognition. Deichmann and Kretschmer, too, have left their mark—one through long-term judicial service, the other through social support for seniors and vulnerable groups. Their efforts continue to shape local institutions and civic life.
