Jatinga Festival 2024 Celebrates Culture With Dance, Crafts, and Ethnic Cuisine

The Jatinga Festival, a celebration of local culture and tourism, kicked off today in its permanent location near Jatinga. The two-day event was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC), CEM Gorlosa, who commended the organisers for their efforts. The festival grounds are filled with ethnic cuisine, traditional crafts, and vibrant dance performances by various communities.

The festival, held in the presence of DHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai and other dignitaries, showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region. It features traditional dance performances by the Dimasa, Khasi, Zeme, and Kuki communities, offering visitors a glimpse into their unique traditions.

CEM Gorlosa urged residents to extend warm hospitality to the visiting guests, ensuring they feel welcome and enjoy their time at the festival. The festival grounds also display a variety of ethnic cuisine and traditional crafts, providing an opportunity for visitors to sample local flavors and shop for unique items.

The Jatinga Festival, now in its permanent venue, is expected to continue promoting local culture and tourism. With its vibrant performances, delicious food, and traditional crafts, the festival offers an enriching experience for both locals and visitors alike.
