Jetzendorf’s CSU scrambles as veteran councilors exit before elections
Jetzendorf’s CSU is facing a shortage of candidates for the upcoming municipal elections. Three long-serving council members have announced their departure, leaving gaps in the party’s lineup. The situation highlights a broader challenge in finding new representatives for local government.
Veteran councilors Ludwig Pfleger, Georg Endres, and Traudi Huber will not seek re-election. Their exit marks a major generational change within the CSU’s local branch. The party has struggled to replace them, with fewer applicants than expected.
The CSU has so far nominated only 14 candidates for the 16 available seats. Officials have not yet revealed who will fill the remaining city council positions. The lack of public announcements suggests ongoing difficulties in securing enough candidates.
The departure of experienced members leaves Jetzendorf’s CSU with fewer options for the election. Without enough applicants, the party may struggle to fill all council seats. The outcome could reshape local governance in the coming term.
