Just before Christmas, a delivery person is said to have disposed of 50 packages
A delivery driver is under investigation after allegedly abandoning around 50 packages in a forest near Friedrichshafen, Germany. The parcels, meant for residents in Ailingen and Meersburg, were discovered by a passerby on a forest playground—some already waterlogged.
The incident took place on the morning of 18 December 2025. A local resident stumbled upon the discarded parcels while walking through the woodland area. Police confirmed the packages were addressed to nearby towns but had been left exposed to the elements.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the courier responsible. The suspect faces charges for breaching postal secrecy laws, though no name or further details have been released. Police are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the driver’s actions on Thursday to come forward. The delivery company involved has pledged to recover the abandoned items as quickly as possible. No connection has been established between this case and a separate incident reported earlier that day in Baden-Württemberg.
The investigation remains ongoing, with police relying on public assistance to identify the suspect. The company’s recovery efforts aim to return the packages to their intended recipients. Legal proceedings will follow if the driver is found guilty of the offence.
