Karls Brings Strawberry-Themed Fun to Oxnard, California Ahead of 2028 Olympics

Karls, a German company specialising in strawberry-themed experiences, is set to open its first US venture in Oxnard, California. The project, led by CEO Robert Dahl, aims to be ready for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, despite no official opening date yet. Dahl, who followed the committee hearing via Zoom from his bathroom due to time differences, is optimistic about the project's success.

The Oxnard strawberry village, an estimated low double-digit million investment, plans to create around 100 jobs. The project, which has received unanimous approval from the committee, will feature a tractor, caterpillar track, potato sack slide, playgrounds, a bakery, and a jam factory. Dahl, who ensures his children work at Karls' experience villages, is expanding the chain's reach from its Rostock origins to the USA.

The next Karls strawberry village in Oberhausen, Germany, is scheduled to open in summer 2026. Annual passes for Karls parks will be valid in both Europe and the USA once the Oxnard village is operational.

Karls' expansion into Oxnard, California, is set to bring a unique strawberry-themed experience to the US. With a planned opening before the 2028 Olympics and the potential for job creation, the project is expected to have a positive impact on the local community. The building permit has been issued, and the company is working towards its goal of providing a fun and engaging experience for visitors.
