Abai Region Accountant Suspected of Embezzling Over 18 Million Tenge
Kazakh school accountant accused of embezzling 18 million tenge
The chief accountant of Karabutak Secondary School in the Makanchi District allegedly paid herself a double salary each month and illegally transferred wages to her unemployed husband. Through this scheme, she is accused of misappropriating more than 18 million tenge in public funds.
The district prosecutor's office has launched a pretrial investigation under Part 3 of the criminal article on "Embezzlement or Misappropriation of Entrusted Property."
The suspect has partially reimbursed the stolen amount.
This follows a recent case in Kokshetau, where a former college accountant was convicted of embezzling 70 million tenge from the budget.
