Kazakhstan and Armenia Strengthen Trade After Historic Grain Shipment via Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan and Armenia are bolstering their trade and diplomatic ties following a recent shipment of grain that transited through Azerbaijan. The two nations have also agreed to explore new areas of cooperation, including transport and energy. Leaders from both countries met to discuss future projects and economic partnerships.
In November, Kazakhstan delivered its first shipment of 1,000 tons of wheat to Armenia via Azerbaijan. This followed Azerbaijan’s decision to lift sanctions, enabling direct trade routes between the two nations. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev publicly thanked Azerbaijan’s leader for facilitating the transport of goods.
Kazakhstan is now poised to supply Armenia with regular shipments of high-quality grain and other goods. The recent grain delivery signals the beginning of closer economic ties between the two nations. Future collaboration will center around trade, infrastructure, and regional development projects.
