Kazakhstan and Palestine pledge deeper cooperation amid Gaza crisis
Kazakhstan has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Palestine across multiple fields. During a recent meeting, officials from both nations discussed deeper cooperation within international organisations and addressed pressing regional concerns.
Maulen Ashimbayev, Speaker of the Kazakh Senate, met with Mahmoud Sidqi Al-Habbash, Chief Justice of Palestine and Advisor to the Palestinian President on Religious Affairs. Their talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation through bodies like the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Arab League.
The two sides also explored joint efforts within the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Kazakhstan expressed serious concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, while reaffirming its support for Palestinian rights and the two-state solution.
Both officials highlighted the strong, trust-based dialogue between their countries. This follows a 2022 meeting between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, which had already strengthened mutual understanding and partnership.
Kazakhstan continues to view Palestine as a vital partner in the Arab world. The latest discussions signal ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration in political, humanitarian, and religious spheres. Future steps will likely focus on concrete initiatives within international frameworks.
