Kazakhstan Honors Mother of Eight with Prestigious ‘Altyn Alqa’ Award

Shymkent resident Atipa Aminulla, a 35-year-old mother of eight, has been honoured with the prestigious 'Altyn Alqa' award. The Golden Pendant is given to exceptional mothers in Kazakhstan, recognising their dedication and contributions to family life.

Atipa's family is a close-knit unit, with responsibilities shared equally among its members. Her husband, a supportive partner, has stood by her side for nearly 15 years. The eldest child is 12 years old, while the youngest is still an infant, with three boys completing their family of eight.

The 'Altyn Alqa' award is one of the highest honours for mothers in Kazakhstan. Atipa joins over 39,000 mothers of large families registered in Shymkent alone, with 4,000 receiving the 'Altyn Alqa' medal and 12,000 the 'Kumis Alqa' medal. This recognition reflects the country's strategic priority to increase its population, with a comprehensive financial support program in place for large families. Currently, Kazakhstan's population stands at over 20 million 445 thousand, with 10 million 452 thousand being women. The current mayor of Shymkent, Altai Kurginbayev, has held the position since 2023 and has acknowledged the importance of such initiatives.

Atipa Aminulla's dedication to her family has earned her the 'Altyn Alqa' award. Her story highlights the importance of family values and the efforts of the Kazakhstan government in supporting large families, contributing to the country's population growth.
