Kazakhstan Honours Armenian PM Pashinyan with Highest State Award

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has honoured Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the Order of the Golden Eagle, the country’s highest state award. The ceremony took place during a formal event, where Tokayev praised Pashinyan’s leadership and contributions to regional diplomacy. The recognition marks a significant moment in bilateral relations between the two nations.

The award was presented in acknowledgement of Pashinyan’s efforts to strengthen ties between Kazakhstan and Armenia. Tokayev described the relationship as having reached the level of a strategic partnership, crediting Pashinyan’s active role in fostering cooperation.

Tokayev also commended the Armenian leader for his work in advancing the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Under Pashinyan’s guidance, a key agreement was signed in Washington, marking a step forward in regional stability.

During the ceremony, Tokayev referred to Pashinyan as a 'true national leader of Armenia' who has driven transformative change. He noted how Pashinyan’s policies have elevated Armenia’s standing on the global stage.

In response, Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the honour, calling it a sign of special respect for the Armenian people. He also emphasised that the award symbolised the deepening bond between the two countries.

The Order of the Golden Eagle is Kazakhstan’s most prestigious state decoration, previously bestowed by the president on select foreign leaders. Pashinyan’s recognition underscores the growing collaboration between Armenia and Kazakhstan. The award follows years of diplomatic engagement and shared efforts toward regional peace.
