Kazakhstan launches urgent evacuations from the Middle East amid rising tensions

Kazakhstan has started evacuating its citizens from the Middle East as the situation there escalates. The operation involves flights and land routes to bring back hundreds of people from affected countries.

The government has maintained its neutral stance and advocated for diplomatic solutions to ease the crisis.

On March 3, 467 Kazakh nationals left the region via the Sultanate of Oman. Another 343 are set to depart from Jeddah on March 4. Earlier, FlyDubai flights carried 306 passengers from Dubai to Almaty and Astana.

Those stuck in Iran will travel by land through Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan. Priority for evacuation is given to women with young children, people over 60, and those with medical needs.

Kazakhstan has refrained from taking sides in the conflict. Instead, it has offered to host peace talks if requested, citing past negotiations on Iran's nuclear program and Syria's war. No further details have been released about additional repatriations beyond the confirmed flights.

The evacuations come as the Middle East news reports indicate a worsening conflict. Kazakhstan remains focused on ensuring the safe return of its citizens while keeping open the possibility of mediation. Authorities have not provided exact figures for future repatriation efforts.
