Kazakhstan leads CIS in fighting domestic violence with landmark reforms

Kazakhstan is making strides in combating domestic violence and democratic reforms, with the support of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The country's positive legislative experience has been praised by CIS lawmakers, while plans for parliamentary reforms are underway.

Kazakhstan's initiative has led to the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS endorsing a model law on combating domestic violence. This law aims to harmonize national legislation and provide methodological support to parliaments across the CIS. The government of Kyrgyzstan has also initiated a reform related to these parliamentary reforms within the CIS framework.

CIS continues to prove its relevance by tackling new challenges. It is addressing the regulation of artificial intelligence and the protection of digital rights. Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev has expressed the goal of transforming the CIS into a space of creation and progress. Maulen Ashimbayev, Speaker of Kazakhstan’s Senate, has highlighted the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly's effectiveness as a dialogue and trust-building platform.

Kazakhstan's leadership in combating domestic violence and driving democratic reforms within the CIS is notable. The endorsement of the model law and the planned parliamentary reforms show a commitment to progress and cooperation among CIS countries. The CIS, in turn, demonstrates its relevance and potential for addressing contemporary challenges.
