Kazakhstan Proposes Central Asia's First Sustainable Agri Center, Attracts German Investment

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently proposed the establishment of a Center for Sustainable Agriculture in Central Asia. This initiative was discussed at a joint meeting, with the Kazakhstani delegation led by Deputy Minister Ermek Kenshekhanuly attending the 17th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) and the Berlin Agricultural Ministers' Conference.

During their visit, the Kazakhstani delegation met with representatives of prominent German companies such as John Deere DE, DF Deutsche Forfait AG, BVVG, and INNARI GmbH. They discussed potential cooperation and investment opportunities in Kazakhstan's agriculture sector. A roundtable discussion was held with European companies to explore these prospects further.

The delegation also engaged in meetings with Hubertus Paetow of the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and leaders of cooperation projects between Kazakhstan and Germany. They participated in a panel discussion on 'Bioeconomy and Global Food Security' hosted by the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA). Talks were held with Parliamentary State Secretary Claudia Müller of Germany and Parliamentary State Secretary Normunds Šmits of Latvia to discuss cooperation in agriculture, trade, investment, and sustainability.

The Kazakhstani delegation's visit to the GFFA and the Berlin Agricultural Ministers' Conference has opened avenues for international cooperation and investment in Kazakhstan's agriculture sector. The proposed Center for Sustainable Agriculture in Central Asia is expected to benefit from these discussions and partnerships.
