Kazakhstan Proposes Constitutional Reforms to Enshrine 'Clean Kazakhstan' Values

Kazakhstan is pushing for constitutional changes to embed the principles of a 'Clean Kazakhstan' into national law. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev backs the initiative, which has gained widespread public support. Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek recently outlined how these amendments could reshape the country's future.

The proposed constitutional reforms focus on three core principles: a 'Listening State', 'Law and Order', and 'Clean Kazakhstan'. Kassymbek stressed that these values should form the legal foundation for a fairer society. He argued that law and order must underpin Kazakhstan's vision of a 'Just Kazakhstan'.

The 'Clean Kazakhstan' initiative has already become part of daily life for many citizens. It encourages purity of thought, respectful speech, and adherence to the law. Kassymbek pointed to Japan as a model, where long-term state policies have made cleanliness and order habitual, helping the country advance globally.

According to the mayor, the success of local government relies on continuous public engagement. He believes that when citizens adopt these values, they contribute to a more responsible and forward-thinking society. The amendments aim to create a sustainable development model for the nation.

The constitutional changes will define law and order as essential to Kazakhstan's progress. If approved, they will formalise the 'Clean Kazakhstan' ethos in national governance. The reforms reflect a broader effort to build a society rooted in accountability and civic responsibility.
