Kazakhstan strengthens oil infrastructure with local production deal
A new partnership aims to boost local production of industrial equipment in Kazakhstan. Ust-Kamenogorsk Valve Plant (UKAZ) and Caspian Pipeline Consortium-K (CPC-K) signed an agreement on import substitution on November 9, 2020. The deal focuses on increasing the use of domestically manufactured components in oil pipeline transport facilities.
The signing ceremony took place with First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar in attendance. UKAZ CEO Alexander Budris and CPC-K CEO Nikolai Gorbany formally agreed to the collaboration. Under the terms, the companies will jointly develop valves, pump units, and electric motors.
The deal marks a step toward greater self-sufficiency in Kazakhstan’s oil infrastructure. UKAZ and CPC-K will now work on delivering domestically produced equipment and services. The partnership is expected to support long-term upgrades in the country’s pipeline transport systems.
