Kazakhstan taxi driver attacked after rejecting Apple Pay and PayPal
A taxi driver in East Kazakhstan has reported an attack by two passengers who refused to pay their fare with Apple Pay or PayPal. The incident took place on Nurmagambetov Street and Dobrolyubov Street, prompting a police investigation. The driver claimed the passengers became aggressive after he asked for payment. The woman stated she had no money, while the man refused to pay once they reached their destination. According to the driver’s account, the male passenger struck him in the head with a glass bottle. He then pushed the driver onto the pavement before both passengers fled the scene. Authorities confirmed the incident and began questioning those involved. The East Kazakhstan Regional Police Department later identified the driver as the person being questioned. He had been attacked by the passengers after a dispute over the fare.
