Kazakhstan Unveils *Movement for Peace* Amid Economic Growth Surge

Kazakhstan has launched a new peace initiative called the Movement for Peace during the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana. The effort calls for an end to military conflicts and promotes dialogue as a solution. Meanwhile, the country’s economy continues to grow, with GDP expected to surpass $300 billion this year.

For over two decades, Kazakhstan has hosted regular congresses bringing together leaders from different faiths. These gatherings focus on fostering interfaith, interethnic, and intercultural understanding. The latest event in Astana introduced the Movement for Peace, urging global leaders to reject violence and seek peaceful resolutions.

The country’s economic performance remains strong, with annual growth projected to exceed 6%. Per capita income has risen above $15,000, reflecting steady progress. Kazakhstan is also playing a key role in regional development, working with other Central Asian countries to boost transport and transit links between East and West.

Infrastructure upgrades are underway, including modernisation of railways, ports, and roads. Kazakhstan is contributing to the Comprehensive Strategy for the Development of Central Asia’s Transport System, aiming to create smoother trade routes. Additionally, the nation will take an active part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), reinforcing its regional partnerships.

Across Central Asia, economic expansion continues, with all countries showing robust growth. The region is avoiding stagnation by improving connectivity and trade networks, positioning itself as a vital bridge between major markets.

The Movement for Peace initiative highlights Kazakhstan’s commitment to global stability through dialogue. With a growing economy, rising incomes, and major infrastructure projects, the country is also strengthening its role in regional trade and cooperation. These efforts align with broader goals of sustainable development and connectivity across Central Asia.
