Kazakhstan’s Jetisu Region Transforms with Record Growth and 108,000 New Jobs
Kazakhstan’s Jetisu region has seen rapid economic growth over the past three years. More than 700,000 hectares of unused land have been revived, while unemployment has dropped to 4.7%. The region now leads in development across industry, agriculture, and infrastructure, attracting major investments and creating over 108,000 jobs in the process.
The region’s gross regional product (GRP) hit 2.2 trillion tenge in 2024, marking a 14.8% increase from the previous year. By the end of 2025, officials expect this figure to climb to 2.7 trillion tenge. Private investors have played a key role, contributing over 70% of the 397 billion tenge poured into the local economy.
Jetisu’s economic surge has been driven by large-scale investments, job creation, and infrastructure upgrades. With 23 major projects set for completion by 2027, the region aims to sustain its growth in trade, agriculture, and social services. The focus remains on expanding opportunities while improving living standards for residents.
