Kazakhstan's Mangystau Region Launches Nauryz with Vibrant Amal Festival
Kazakhstan's Mangystau Region has kicked off its Nauryz celebrations with the Amal festival. The event, held on March 14, follows a tradition set by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Thousands gathered at the historic Adai Ata – Otpan Tau complex, the region's highest point, to join the festivities.
The festival attracted locals from across Kazakhstan as well as international visitors. Guests from Poland, Turkey, and Uzbekistan travelled to take part in the celebrations. Performances featured artists from Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, adding cultural diversity to the event.
Nurdaulet Kilybay, the akim of Mangystau Region, addressed the crowd to highlight the importance of preserving national traditions. He congratulated attendees and thanked organisers for their efforts. In his speech, he also wished the country continued prosperity, harmony, peace, and unity. The Amal festival marks the beginning of Kazakhstan's Nauryz celebrations. This year's event at Adai Ata – Otpan Tau served as the main gathering, bringing together music, dance, and cultural displays in a vibrant atmosphere.
The festival has reinforced Mangystau's role in Kazakhstan's Nauryz traditions. With performances, speeches, and widespread participation, the event celebrated both local heritage and international friendship. The celebrations will continue as part of the broader Nauryz festivities across the country.
