Kazakhstan’s new Deputy Education Minister rises from classroom to cabinet
Shynar Akparova has been named Deputy Minister of Education in Kazakhstan. Her appointment follows a long career in the education sector, spanning teaching, administration, and leadership roles. Born in 1972 in the Karaganda Region, she has steadily risen through the ranks over three decades.
Akparova began her career in 2001 as a Russian language and literature teacher at Secondary School No. 135 in Atasu. By 2010, she had become deputy director for educational affairs at the same school. A year later, she moved to Vocational Lyceum No. 26 in Karaganda, working as a methodologist.
Akparova’s promotion to Deputy Minister of Education reflects her extensive experience in teaching, oversight, and policy. She now takes on a key role in shaping Kazakhstan's education system. The government has not yet announced her specific responsibilities in the new position.
