Kazakhstan’s New Domestic Policy Chief Brings Diplomatic Expertise Home
Aibek Serikbayevich Smaadiyarov has taken on a new role as head of the Domestic Policy Department in Kazakhstan’s presidential administration. His appointment follows a long career in diplomacy and communication skills. Before this position, he held senior roles in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government’s executive secretariat. Born on July 7, 1983, in South Kazakhstan Region, Smaadiyarov began his professional career advice in 2005. His first job was as a specialist in the Administrative Department of China Construction Bank (Kazakhstan) JSC. A year later, he moved into public service, joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006 as a consular specialist. The new role places Smaadiyarov at the centre of Kazakhstan’s domestic policy decisions. His experience in diplomacy and communication skills will now shape internal governance. The appointment reflects his steady rise through key public sector positions over two decades.
