Kazakhstan’s President Calls for Sustained Aid to Afghanistan at Asia Summit

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has urged countries to keep supporting Afghanistan during a speech at a forum in Ashgabat. He stressed that aid must remain a priority for regional stability. Tokayev also highlighted the role of international organizations in coordinating assistance efforts.

Tokayev spoke at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), praising its work in strengthening security across the region. He pointed to the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia and Afghanistan as a key platform for managing aid.

Tokayev’s appeal underscores the ongoing need for international cooperation in Afghanistan. While Kazakhstan maintains its aid programs, the response from other nations remains unclear. The situation highlights both regional commitments and gaps in global support for Afghan refugees.
