Kazakhstan's Senate Speaker Meets New OSCE Head, Vows to Strengthen Ties
Kazakhstan's Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev met with Alexey Rogov, the new Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana. They reviewed the successful collaboration between Kazakhstan's Parliament and the OSCE, with both parties expressing interest in further strengthening ties.
Ashimbayev praised the OSCE's role as a 'bridging link' between East and West, acknowledging its crucial part in addressing security and cooperation challenges. He also congratulated Rogov on his appointment, expressing Kazakhstan's value in its productive partnership with the OSCE and its institutions.
Rogov, in turn, showed interest in strengthening Kazakhstan’s cooperation with the OSCE and readiness to carry out planned initiatives. Both sides discussed prospects for expanding interparliamentary ties and exchanged views on implementing joint projects. Ashimbayev also briefed Rogov on the progress of reforms initiated by the Head of State, aiming to shape and develop the concept of a 'Fair Kazakhstan'.
The meeting between Ashimbayev and Rogov reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to upholding the rule of law, protecting citizens' rights, promoting inclusion, advancing democratization, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. With both parties eager to expand cooperation, the future of Kazakhstan-OSCE relations looks promising.
