Kazakhstan's XII Civil Forum Boosts Dialogue, Trust, and Social Responsibility
The XII Civil Forum of Kazakhstan concluded recently in Astana, with over 700 delegates in attendance. Minister of Culture and Information, Aida Balayeva, expressed confidence that the ideas and proposals discussed will foster trust, social responsibility, and dialogue in society. The event, held ahead of Republic Day, saw participation from representatives of NGOs, the business community, and international experts, including 38 foreign participants from 19 embassies and 10 international organizations.
Balayeva highlighted the significance of parliamentary reform in enhancing legislative culture and openness in state decision-making processes. She noted that the forum's recommendations have led to the adoption of strategically important documents over the past five years. The head of state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, thanked NGOs for their contributions to the country's unity and harmony. The event covered key areas such as sustainable development, ecology, digitization, inclusion, and youth initiatives, with expert reports and proposals presented.
Despite the absence of a specific civil society representative mentioned to deliver the state leader's message, the forum emphasized the crucial role of effective partnership between the state, business, and civil society in building a fair and sustainable Kazakhstan. The state has nearly doubled funds allocated for social orders in the past five years, reflecting a commitment to addressing societal needs.
The XII Civil Forum of Kazakhstan, with its wide-ranging discussions and international participation, has once again underscored the importance of dialogue and collaboration in shaping the country's future. The forum's recommendations, if implemented, could further strengthen Kazakhstan's social fabric and legislative processes.
