Kim Jong-un celebrates North Korea’s Constitution Day with elite officials and athletes

North Korea marked its Constitution Day on December 26, 2025, with a grand ceremony in Pyongyang. Leader Kim Jong-un attended the event at Mansudae Assembly Hall, where he greeted top officials and celebrated the country’s achievements in sports and development.

The ceremony began with Kim Jong-un personally welcoming senior figures. Among them were Premier Kim Tok-hun, Choe Ryong-hae (President of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly), and Jo Yong-won (Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee). Military leaders Pak Jong-chon and Ri Yong-gil also stood among the attendees.

The event included a special recognition for North Korea’s 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup-winning team. Kim met the players and coaches, offering words of encouragement and wishing them future success. He later delivered a commemorative oath, with participants pledging their loyalty to the state. During the gathering, Kim praised labour innovators and individuals honoured for their contributions to national progress. The ceremony highlighted both athletic triumphs and broader efforts to strengthen the country.
