Kirchbauna overhauls its drinking water network with 470 metres of new pipelines
Kirchbauna has completed a major upgrade to its drinking water network. The project covered 470 metres of pipeline along Am Berge, Meißnerstraße, Taunusstraße and Dörnbergweg. Work also included modernising 35 house connections and installing new valve systems.
The renewal began in March and was originally set to finish by September. Due to unexpected road conditions on Dörnbergweg, the project ran about a month longer. The extra time was needed to fully resurface a 40-metre stretch of the street.
The upgraded network now includes 35 refreshed house connections, five of which extend into buildings. Six new large gate valves were also fitted. Despite minor delays and a small cost increase, the city has improved its water infrastructure for the long term.
