Klettgau/Grießen Shines in National Rural Development Competition

Klettgau/Grießen, a village in Baden-Württemberg, has secured a place in the national finals of a prestigious competition, 'Unser Dorf hat Zukunft' (Our Village Has a Future), which recognizes projects that demonstrate civic engagement shaping the future of rural communities. Klettgau/Grießen, along with Gammertingen/Harthausen, Feldhausen (Biberach/Prinzbach), and Freudenberg/Rauenberg, have all won gold medals in this urban development competition.

The competition saw 23 communities from across Baden-Württemberg participate, including villages such as Klettgau/Grießen, Gammertingen/Harthausen, Feldhausen, Freudenberg/Rauenberg, Geislingen/Türkheim, Herbertingen/Marbach, Altheim, and Sigmaringen/Unterschmeien. Each community presented concepts aimed at enhancing quality of life, sustainability, and regional cohesion in their urban projects. Many of these projects were supported by funding programs like ELR and LEADER.

Several municipalities from the Breisgau region also won at the urban development competition. Ebringen received a special prize, while Sulzburg-Laufen was awarded a bronze medal and another special prize for outstanding individual achievements in their community projects. These innovative urban initiatives, focusing on climate protection, local development, and community-building, provide vital momentum for rural areas.

Klettgau/Grießen's qualification for the national finals is a testament to the civic engagement and dedication of its citizens and local leaders in their urban development projects. The competition highlights the importance of rural development and improvement projects, with funding programs like ELR and LEADER playing a significant role in supporting these urban initiatives.
