Knife Attack at Berlin U-Bahn Station Injures Two
A knife attack at Kurt-Schumacher-Platz underground station in Reinickendorf left two men injured yesterday afternoon. The assailant, still unidentified, targeted the victims following an altercation, allegedly over shared alcohol consumption. Police are investigating the incident.
The assault happened around 5 p.m. A 43-year-old man suffered lacerations on his upper arm, while a 22-year-old sustained injuries behind his ear. Both were found by BVG security staff at Leopoldplatz station and received immediate medical attention. The younger victim was treated at the scene, while the older one was taken to a hospital for outpatient care.
Police from Directorate 1 (North) are now searching for the unknown attacker. The suspect, who took offense after the group allegedly drank alcohol together, brandished a knife and assaulted the two men. No further details about the perpetrator are available yet.
