Knife-wielding robber targets Berlin hotel in early-morning heist
Berlin police are appealing for witnesses after a knife-wielding man robbed a hotel in the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident took place at a property on Fischerinsel in the Mitte district, with the suspect fleeing by taxi after stealing cash from the reception desk.
The robbery happened at around 4:20 a.m. on October 25, 2025, at Fischerinsel 12. The suspect entered through the hotel’s main entrance, approached the receptionist, and demanded money while holding a knife. After taking an undisclosed sum, he ran to Fischerinsel 1, where he got into a waiting taxi and left the area.
Detectives from Berlin’s criminal police have released no further details about the suspect’s appearance or the vehicle used. However, they are urging anyone who saw the robbery, recognised the man, or witnessed his escape to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing, with officers reviewing any available CCTV footage and tracing the taxi’s route. No injuries were reported during the incident.
