Koblenz invites 2026 project ideas to strengthen local democracy and cohesion
The Partnership for Democracy Koblenz has opened applications for local projects in 2026. Funding is available through the federal programme Demokratie leben! to support initiatives that strengthen democracy, diversity, and social cohesion in the city. Organisations, associations, and nonprofits are now invited to submit their ideas for workshops, cultural events, or educational programmes. Since 2018, the Partnership for Democracy Koblenz has worked to boost civic engagement under the Demokratie leben! programme. This year, the alliance—alongside the youth forum Youth for Democracy—will review and select new projects for 2026. Successful proposals must focus on fostering respect, inclusion, and participation across all age groups, from children to professionals.
Applications can be submitted by three deadlines: 12 April, 10 May, and 16 August 2026. The coordination office provides guidance to help applicants refine their ideas and complete the process. Once approved, projects must be carried out and finished within the same year.
Eligible formats include discussion events, sports activities, artistic projects, or training sessions. The programme particularly encourages initiatives that bring together different community groups. Funding decisions will be made jointly by the alliance and the youth forum to ensure a broad range of perspectives. The selected projects will receive financial support to implement their plans in Koblenz throughout 2026. Interested groups can contact the coordination office for assistance with their applications. The programme aims to create tangible opportunities for dialogue, learning, and collaboration in the local area.
