Komi Region Speeds Up Parental Glory Award Payments in Five Days
A draft decree has been published in the Republic of Komi to simplify the one-time payment process for parents awarded the Order and Medal of Parental Glory. The changes aim to make the service more efficient and accessible. Officials have clarified timelines and paperwork requirements to speed up approvals.
The updated rules follow a legal review by the regional office of Russia's Ministry of Justice. Their goal was to improve the quality and accessibility of the state service. The revisions include a detailed list of required documents and set a maximum processing time of five business days for all cases.
Since the Order and Medal of Parental Glory was introduced in 2019, the number of recipients has grown steadily. In 2021, 15 parents received the award, rising to 28 in 2022. By 2023, the figure reached 42, then 57 in 2024, and 73 in 2025.
The amendments will not alter existing regional laws or affect citizens' socioeconomic status. No extra funding from the republic's budget will be needed to implement the changes.
The new decree sets clear deadlines and paperwork requirements for payments. Processing times will now be capped at five business days, even for cases involving interagency requests. The updates apply to both in-person submissions and more complex applications.
