Kosovar Man Arrested at Hamburg Airport Over Drunk Driving Charge
A 28-year-old Kosovar national was arrested at Hamburg Airport on Saturday evening. The man was wanted by the public prosecutor's office in Coburg since April 2025 for drunk driving.
The detainee was initially taken into police custody. However, he was later released. Upon his release, the man found himself unable to pay the required penalty of 1,200 euros, which included 30 daily fines of 40 euros each, 70 penalty units, and 83 euros in court costs. Alternatively, he could have served 13 days in detention. Unable to cover the amount, the man resorted to calling a friend to pay the sum at the airport using Apple Pay.
The detainee's identity remains unknown, as the search results did not provide the name of the public prosecutor who prosecuted him for driving under the influence of alcohol in Coburg.
