Kraftisried's 2026 Election: A Competitive Race for Mayor and Council
Residents of Kraftisried will head to the polls on March 8, 2026, to choose a new mayor and town council in the upcoming elections. Voting stations will remain open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with preliminary results expected by the evening of the same day.
The upcoming election marks a shift from the 2020 municipal vote, where Michael Abel secured the mayoral position unopposed with 97% support. This time, if no candidate gains over 50% of the vote, a runoff will take place on March 22.
In 2020, the town council election featured only one list—the WgaB (Electoral Alliance of All Professions). The results of this year's council race will be published once finalised.
Unlike previous years, the 2026 election introduces competition for both mayor and council seats. Officials have confirmed that all outcomes will be shared as soon as they are verified.
The elections will determine Kraftisried's leadership for the coming years. Should no mayoral candidate win a majority, voters will return on March 22 to decide between the top two contenders. The town council's composition will also be finalised based on the results.
