Krasnodar Krai preserves a 1913 school as a living cultural landmark

Krasnodar Krai has implemented significant conservation measures, safeguarding over 1,080 cultural heritage sites. Among these is the historic 'Two-Class School', a regional cultural gem designed by Nikolai Kozo-Polyansky and constructed in 1913.

The 'Two-Class School', also known as the 'Eastern School', was built on the eastern outskirts of the stanitsa in 1913. It officially opened its doors on September 1, 1914, welcoming 177 students in its inaugural year. The architect behind this notable structure was Karl Hell.

Notable alumni include Soviet Hero Stephan Breus, who studied there from 1921 to 1925. During World War II, the building served as a mobile field hospital after the stanitsa's liberation. Later, it housed Boarding School No. 38 before becoming a general education school.

The 'Two-Class School' stands as a testament to Krasnodar Krai's rich history and cultural heritage. With its original features protected, it continues to serve as an educational institution, preserving its past while shaping the future.
