Krasnodar vows to fix all utility cuts by April after repair delays
Krasnodar officials have pledged to restore all remaining utility cuts by April. The city currently faces around 100 unfinished sites after recent repairs to underground networks. A meeting with service providers addressed the delays and set new priorities for restoration work.
Before the 2024 repair season began, Krasnodar had roughly 1,200 open excavation sites across the city. Most permits for such work were issued for water supply and sewerage networks, though heating pipelines now account for the highest number of unrestored cuts.
The share of areas left unfinished after excavation has dropped since 2022. In 2024, only 6.7% of sites missed their restoration deadlines. Meanwhile, the city's transport department has issued fewer permits in recent years.
Officials have now prioritised three streets for urgent repairs: Atarbekov, Shkolnaya, and Blagoev. Utility company managers will personally oversee progress on these routes.
The city expects all remaining cuts to be filled by April. Utility providers and transport authorities will monitor compliance closely. Heating pipelines remain the biggest challenge, with the most outstanding restoration work still pending.
