Krasnoyarsk’s Massive Military Forum Unites Generations in Patriotic Spirit

Over 6,000 participants gathered in Krasnoyarsk for the final military-patriotic forum of the year, titled 'We Will Preserve Traditions! We Will Defend the Motherland!'. The event, held across all seven districts, coincided with the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Grigory Kolesnikov, a youth outreach specialist, observed a surge in interest and preparation among young people for such events, a stark contrast to a decade ago. Residents honed their skills in rifle assembly and disassembly, and learned to weave camouflage nets during the forum. Military-patriotic exhibits, including an open-air display of military hardware and weaponry, attracted significant attention from young attendees.

The forum was addressed by notable figures such as State Duma Deputy Yury Shvytkin and Krasnoyarsk’s acting mayor, who expressed gratitude to servicemen and their families. Inside the Palace of Culture, themed exhibits offered visitors a closer look at historical artifacts from the Great Patriotic War, presented by the Victory Memorial Museum. The grand finale was held at the 1st of May Palace of Culture, bringing together diverse groups including school students, conscripts, senior citizens, and combat veterans.

Among the guests of honor was Nikolai Maegov, a decorated combat veteran and father of four.
