Kuwait Elected to COMCEC Bureau, Boosting Regional Economic Role

Kuwait's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa Al-Ajil, has expressed delight at the country's election to the Bureau of the Follow-up Committee of the Standing Ministerial Committee for Economic and Trade Cooperation (COMCEC) for the next three years. This appointment reflects Kuwait's active engagement in diplomatic and economic affairs among Islamic nations.

Kuwait's Vision 2035 aims to diversify its united economy, reduce oil reliance, and strengthen its global economic standing. The country aspires to become a regional and international hub for finance and trade by empowering the private sector and modernizing infrastructure. Al-Ajil praised this election as an acknowledgment of Kuwait's active role in supporting regional and international economic collaboration.

COMCEC, in its 41st Session, adopted the theme 'Improving Export Strategies in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation'. Al-Ajil emphasized the importance of diversifying production bases and expanding exportable goods and services for nations to enhance their exports. He thanked the State of Qatar for its effective leadership during its previous term as the head of COMCEC.

Kuwait's election to the COMCEC Bureau is a testament to its commitment to cooperation among Islamic nations. With its Vision 2035, Kuwait is poised to play a significant role in shaping the global economic landscape, contributing to the growth and development of the Islamic economic bloc.
