Kuwait Media Symposium Highlights Role in Shaping National Identity

A symposium recently discussed the role of Kuwait's media outlets in shaping national identity and awareness. The event highlighted the evolution of Kuwait Radio and the importance of news agencies like Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) in the media landscape.

Dr. Yousef Al-Surayaa, director of the Second Program and local stations at Kuwait Radio, shared how the station has grown from brief daily broadcasts to a trusted source of national information and entertainment. Meanwhile, Bader Al-Daie, director of Cultural and Religious Programs at Kuwait Television, emphasized the role of Kuwait Television in promoting national culture, heritage, and identity through its programming.

The symposium's first session explored themes such as the role of news agencies in supporting the media, and the development of Kuwait Television in reflecting the national image. Saad Al-Ali, a former deputy director-general for the editorial sector at KUNA, noted the complementary nature of news agencies and newspapers in providing information.

Despite the mystery surrounding the current director of the Second Program and local stations at Kuwait Radio, the symposium underscored the significance of Kuwait's media outlets in shaping public awareness and national identity. The event highlighted the evolution of Kuwait Radio and the crucial role of news agencies in delivering accurate and reliable news.
