Kuwait Praises UN's 80-Year Commitment to Peace and Development
Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya has praised the United Nations for its 80-year commitment to peace and development. The UN Day celebration in Kuwait, held under the theme 'Building Our Future Together', coincided with the organization's anniversary and current global challenges.
Ghada Al-Taher, UN Resident Coordinator, commended Kuwait's long-standing multilateral partnership and humanitarian cooperation. Kuwait, which has hosted the United Nations House since 1963, accommodates over 20 UN agencies. The country's leaders have consistently supported UN programs and efforts in peacebuilding, human rights, and development. Kuwait and the UN collaborate on initiatives including health, environment, youth empowerment, and anti-corruption.
Al-Yahya reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment to the UN Charter and emphasized the importance of international multilateral cooperation for a peaceful and prosperous future.
