Kuwait strengthens anti-corruption drive with five new Nazaha board members

Kuwait's leadership has appointed five new members to the board of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha). The swearing-in ceremony took place in the presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who received the Minister of Justice on Monday to formally introduce the new officials. The newly sworn-in board members include Dr. Rana Al-Faris as Chairperson and Dr. Majed Al-Deihani as Deputy Chairperson. Joining them are Dr. Abdullah Al-Dabbous, Rania Al-Fulaij, and Dhay Al-Otaibi, all appointed as board members.

The ceremony follows a period of active anti-corruption efforts by Nazaha. Over the past year, the authority launched the *Integrity Shield* initiative and conducted over 1,200 investigations, resulting in 450 arrests. It also upgraded its digital reporting platforms and signed cooperation agreements with Saudi Arabia and the UAE to strengthen regional anti-corruption measures. As of March 2026, Nazaha's leadership consists of seven members, including Chairman Representative Dr. Shaikha Hind Al-Mahmoud and First Deputy Chairman Abdulaziz Al-Anzi. The new appointments aim to further bolster the authority's ongoing work in combating corruption.

The new board members will now take up their roles within Nazaha's expanded leadership. Their appointments come as the authority continues to implement key projects and international partnerships to enhance transparency and accountability in Kuwait.
