Kuwait tightens rules on mandatory vehicle insurance providers in 2025
Kuwait's General Traffic Department has released Resolution No. (2) of 2025, officially designating companies allowed to issue or renew mandatory vehicle insurance policies. Vehicle owners must now deal exclusively with these approved companies for their car insurance coverage.
The approved list includes Kuwait Insurance Company, Baitak Takaful Insurance Company, and Gulf Insurance Group, among others. These companies have been vetted and approved by the authorities to provide compulsory vehicle insurance for road traffic accidents. This move aims to regulate the market and ensure that all vehicle owners have access to legitimate insurance providers.
Vehicle owners are advised to check the approved list before purchasing or renewing their car insurance policies. Failure to do so may result in policy invalidation and potential legal issues.

Vehicle owners can now confidently choose from the approved list, knowing they are dealing with legitimate providers. The General Traffic Department encourages all vehicle owners to comply with the new regulations for their own protection and to maintain road safety.
