Kuwait’s population hits record 5.169 million in 2025 growth surge

Kuwait’s population has surged to 5.169 million by the end of 2025. This marks the highest growth rate in four years, with an annual increase of 4.44 percent. The rise added 223,000 new residents over the past 12 months.

The latest figures show Kuwait’s population expanding rapidly. From the second quarter to the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, numbers climbed by 1.37 percent. This steady rise reflects ongoing demographic changes in the country.

Kuwait now has 5.169 million residents, up by 223,000 since late 2024. The growth rate of 4.44 percent stands as the highest in recent years. Most of the new arrivals originate from South Asia, the Arab world, and Africa.
